Justin Glenn Q&A
April 8, 2009
After a stellar career at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, Wash., in which he played both corner and running back, Justin Glenn is ready to show off his skills at the collegiate level. Glenn redshirted last season but has worked his way into the mix in the defensive backfield. GoHuskies.com correspondent Benton Strong caught up with Glenn on Monday.
GoHuskies.com: You had a big pass break up during 11-on-11 (on Monday). What happened?
Justin Glenn: 'It was third-and-three so I knew they were going to come with something quick. I just wanted to make a play on the ball and luckily I made a play.'
GH.com: What is the mindset when working on those types of sitations?
JG: 'You just have to bring you're 'A' game every play. You never know when the ball is going to come your way. Today we focused on second-and-sevens and some third downs. The pressure is on in those situations so you just have to be ready for it.'
GH.com:What have you seen in the progress of this team so far?
JG: 'So far we've been moving in a positive direction. Everyone on the team senses it. We're making strides. We have a long way to go, but at the rate we're going we're going to get there. We're going to be alright.'
GH.com:How does it feel to get some sun at practice?
JG: 'It's a little more tiring. Guys were tired today. You've just got to keep subbing guys in and making sure guys get rest. But it's nice. You can't complain about the sun.'
GH.com: Have you been able to soak in the atmosphere with having fans at practice?
JG: 'You've got to try not to notice. You've got to try to zone that stuff out and focus on your technique because that's what they're looking at. It adds an aspect where everyone is watching you and talking about you. It's not just the coaches that see if you don't bring your 'A' game on every play.'
