Demitrious Bronson Q&A
April 10, 2009
Demitrius Bronson has been a bright spot for the Huskies in the first few weeks of spring camp. The freshman tailback from local Kentwood High (Kent, Wash.) seems to provide a big play at least once every practice, and could provide a spark for the Husky backfield this year. Gohuskies.com correspondent Michael Jeremiah caught up with Bronson after practice to talk to him about his performance so far in camp and getting back into football.
GH.com: How are you feeling about practices and how you are doing?
Bronson: Personally, I felt like I have a lot of things to work on for the upcoming season but there's still time to go.
GH.com: What do you think the coaches have in mind for you during this upcoming season?
Bronson: We don't know yet. Now we are all just trying to earn our spots in the offense. We are all going to play a lot of different roles in the offense.
GH.com: How much better is it for you to be back in pads after a long break?
Bronson: After a year and a half, it feels good. I'm just trying to get the basic stuff down. I'm just trying to get my feet wet again. Once I stop thinking and just reacting, then that's the real me.
GH.com: Does the fact that you are a local guy change the way you feel about being a part of this?
Bronson: It does. It means a lot because you know you have the whole town, the whole city behind you.
GH.com: Being a freshman and having a new coaching staff, do you feel like you are behind the eight ball twice or are you adjusting well?
Bronson: I think that I am adjusting well, it's really just a matter of how much work you put into it. The amount of work you put in is how much you are going to get out of it.
GH.com: With the sun shining at practice, does it make it an even better day to be a Husky?
Bronson: Oh yeah! This is a great day to be in Seattle.
