Cal Completes Scrimmage with UC Davis

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California completed a scrimmage with UC Davis on Saturday morning at the Port of Sacramento.
Golden Bears head coach Dave O'Neill was happy with the results, as Cal showed good speed and some promise. The Cal coaches will use the results of the scrimmage to help with selection for the team's various boats.
'We appreciate the Davis program having us out,' O'Neill said. 'Today was a time to try some different things and race hard. We made steps in the right direction this morning. In every respect this day was a success.'
Cal returns to action when it co-hosts the Lake Natoma Invitational with Sacramento State April 18-19 in Gold River, Calif. The regatta includes Stanford, which boasts the second-ranked varsity 8+, Wisconsin, with the No. 9 varsity 8+, UCLA, with the No. 17 varsity 8+, Minnesota, with the 18th-ranked varsity 8+, Tennessee, with the No. 19 varsity 8+, Sacramento State, Texas and Central Florida.
