Favorite moment in a competition... Beating UCLA in overtime 2-1 in 2006
What do you remember the most about the 1999 U.S. Women’s World Cup Victory? I remember sitting in my family room watching the penalty kicks and being really nervous. Of course I remember when Brandi Chastain took off her shirt after she made the winning kick. At the time I didn’t really think her doing that would become such a cultural event like it has.
Most creative cheer or sign by a fan... Our Oregon football fans can get pretty funny and creative.
Team on campus that does the best job of packing your stands... Football
Favorite TV show... Grey’s Anatomy
Favorite TV show as a kid... Gilligan’s Island Reruns
What your sights are set on after college... Grad School at UO for Masters in Education
Describe the best goal you’ve scored... When I was a sophomore in high school we were in the section championships and the score was 0-0. We had a throw-in on the right side around the top of the 18. My teammate threw it in to another player of ours who flicked it to me and I volleyed it in the net to go up 1-0. It ended up being the game winner.
Favorite flavor of ice cream... too many favorites
What is the best part of being on your team... How much fun we have is my favorite part. Whether it’s on or off the field we are always having a good time, but we also know when it’s time to work hard too.
Favorite school memory... Senior year of high school—to many favorite memories to choose from.
Who’s the funniest member of your team... Julie Armstrong by FAR!
If you could make the cover of any magazine, which one would it be? Why?... Sports Illustrated. Because we need more women represented on the cover for all the young girl athletes to look up to as role models—not just as swimsuit models.
If you could cook dinner for one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? What would you serve him/her for dinner? FDR. I would make him some really good homemade tortilla soup.
Gatorade or Powerade? Gatorade!!
The sport you’re the worst at... Golf – I have no patience for it.
If you were stranded on an island, what are the three essentials you’d need to have? Razor, toothbrush, and a knife.
Something about yourself that others would be surprised to hear...I always say if I didn’t make it as a collegiate athlete I would have gone to culinary school.
Which of your teammates would you like to trade places with for a day and why? Cody Miles, it would be interesting to see how different training is for goalkeepers.
Who is your favorite athlete in a sport other than your own and why? I always loved Jeff Kent on the S.F. Giants until he was traded. He was my favorite because he was a great second baseman. Plus he’s good looking!
What is the best advice you’ve received and who from? I have received a lot of great advice from my Dad over the years; I can’t say which was more important than any others.
What is your biggest pet peeve and why? Being late, because I hate walking in late and having all eyes follow you to your seat, while they think how rude it is that you’re late.
What is your favorite class that you are taking or have taken? Any class with Dr. Ron Begetto, he is such an inspiring, animated, and fun professor to have.
Weirdest thing a fan has done? Streaking.
Greatest sports memory… Watching my Dad’s high school football team win the section championship in the Oakland Coliseum when I was a little girl.
