Former Beaver Linebacker James Allen To Throw Out First Pitch At Sunday's Baseball Game

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Former Oregon State linebacker and NFL veteran James Allen will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Oregon State baseball's series finale with USC Sunday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
Allen lettered with the Beavers from 1998-2001 before being selected in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, whom he played for through the 2006 season.
With Oregon State, Allen finished with 197 total tackles, including a career-best 72 as a senior in 2001. He posted 20 tackles for loss during his career and had seven sacks.
Upon finishing his career in Corvallis, Allen was selected 82nd overall in the 2002 draft by New Orleans. He played four seasons for the Saints, seeing action in 48 games, including 12 starts. Allen finished with 89 tackles - including a career-high 49 in 2004 - two pass deflections and a touchdown on an interception in 2002 against Tampa Bay in his first career game.
Also note that a limited number of seats are available for Saturday and Sunday's games. Tickets for Friday night's game are still available in the grandstand and bleacher areas. Friday's series opener starts at 5 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. game on Saturday. Sunday's game now starts at 12 p.m.
Please be aware that there is a Club volleyball tournament on Saturday and Sunday at legendary Gill Coliseum and other locations around the Oregon State campus. The tournament will have an impact on parking and traffic so please plan accordingly as the area will be much more congested than normal. It is advised that fans come earlier than normal to guarantee being able to see that day's first pitch.
