WIN FOREVER Book By Pete Carroll Set For Spring Of 2010
April 20, 2009
WIN FOREVER by Pete Carroll, a book that will provide an inside look at the USC football head coach's leadership philosophy, will be published in the spring of 2010 by the Penguin Group's Portfolio label.
WIN FOREVER will include previously untold details and anecdotes about USC football, as well as Carroll's advice for building teams that stick together and consistently outperform expectations. He will also discuss leadership off the field, based on his charitable work with kids on the toughest streets of Los Angeles. And he will show how the five principles of his Win Forever philosophy can be applied to any kind of endeavor.
Carroll will donate a portion of his proceeds to A Better LA, a non-profit devoted to reducing gang violence in the most crime-plagued neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
Carroll is college football's winningest active coach with an 88-15 record (85.4%) over eight seasons at USC. His teams have won seven consecutive Pac-10 conference titles and two national championships. They also have appeared in seven straight BCS bowls and posted seasons with at least 11 wins seven times in a row. Under Carroll, the Trojans have produced three Heisman Trophy winners (Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush) and are the first team to win three consecutive Rose Bowls.
World rights to the book were acquired by Courtney Young, who will edit the book, and Adrian Zackheim of Portfolio from Jay Mandel of the William Morris Agency.
Portfolio was founded in 2001 as a dedicated business imprint within Penguin Group (USA) Inc., which is the U.S. member of the internationally renowned Penguin Group.
