'I Got My E Back'
April 22, 2009
Corvallis, Ore. -
For those of you who haven’t been at practice this spring, for much of it junior linebacker Keith Pankey has been junior linebacker Keith Pank y. A pesky offensive lineman on a blocking drill attempted to hold Pankey, and it was then, his e went missing.
Pankey actually didn’t even know he had his e back until near the end of practice when two Beaver officials congratulated him on his reuniting with his lost vowel. Pankey, as with his teammates, always have their pads and jerseys ready for them when they arrive for the day and he didn’t notice the nameplate
Speaking of jerseys, Nike officials were back on campus for their usual Wednesday visit for gear tests with the Beavers. Several players were wearing new practice jerseys and at the end a trio of receivers tried the new not-on-the-market gloves catching passes from the JUGS machine.
Basically, a routine practice today, even head coach Mike Riley made it through post-practice unscathed by the light media turnout. The Gazette-Times was there in force, though, with Cliff Kirkpatrick and Kevin “New Look” Hampton catching up with assistant coaches and players.
Former Seattle Seahawk great Curt Warner attended practice, which he does now again, Wednesday. Former receiver Brandon Powers was also in attendance.
If you haven’t had a chance yet, check out the Q&A with center Alex Linnenkohl. And, make sure you watch an interview with former tight end now defensive end Gabe Miller on Beaver Nation Online, with current tight end Brady Camp asking the questions.
Friday is a big day with Pac-10 officials present for the 3:30 (approximate) scrimmage.
