STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Cara Freeman led the Oregon State women's golf team on Sunday finishing tied for 12th-place at the Pacific-10 Championship on Stanford Golf Course.

Freeman led the Beavs for the second consecutive day firing a team tournament best and  final round score of 1-under-par 70, bringing her tournament total to 219 (74-75-70) on the par-71, 6,148 yard course.

'Cara had a played a really good tournament,' head coach Rise Lakowske said. 'She played especially well today shooting 1under. She played really steady and really she played well the last two days, but just didn't score. Cara converted three really nice birdies today, and that makes the difference in her score.'

Despite shooting its best team round by 12 shots with a 297 in the final round, Oregon State finishes the championship in 10th-place with a 920 (309-314-297).

'Obviously we played our best round today,' Lakowske said. 'Everyone shot in the 70s today and four of our five shot their best rounds of the tournament. We played a lot of holes under-par, but the first two rounds put us at a disadvantage. Overall we had a pretty good season, had some ups and downs, but we're getting better and we will continue to get better.'

Freshman Elyse Okada came in with Oregon State's second best score on the day with a 3-over 74 that was aided by a hole-in-one on the par-3, 146 yard fourth hole. Okada finished tied for 40th shooting a 237.

'Elyse hit a great shot on No. 4,' Lakowske said. 'The hole is placed over a big ravine with a hazard on the right. It's one of the tougher par-3s out here. It hit, bounced a couple times and rolled into the hole.'

Other Oregon State scores included Whitney French tying for 36th with a 231, Lauren Archer tied for 40th shooting a 237 and Martha Burkard finished 46th carding a 242.

Arizona State won the 2009 Pacific-10 Championship shooting an 852 (293-281-278) and Arizona State's Carlota Ciganda won the individual title shooting a 3-under-par 210 (70-71-69).
