Keenan Lewis Selected by Pittsburgh in the 3rd Round

Former Oregon State cornerback Keenan Lewis has been drafted with the 32nd pick in the 3rd round (96 overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in the 2009 National Football League Draft.
Lewis earned four letters while making 47 career starts, the third-most in Oregon State history. The New Orleans, La. native was a College Football News Third Teeam All-American and honorable mention by the Sporting News as a freshman. Lewis was also a three-time Pac-10 First Team All-Academic selection and led the Beavers in interceptions as a junior and senior with seven (combined).
Lewis is the first Oregon State cornerback selected in the Draft since Dennis Weathersby was a fourth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2003.
Lewis joins Andy Levitre (2nd/51st) as Beaver alums taken in the 2009 draft, marking the seventh straight year that at least two former Oregon State players have been taken in the NFL Draft.
