Pat Cowan Signs With New Orleans

UCLA quarterback Pat Cowan has signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints.
Cowan missed the 2008 season after suffering a season-ending injury late in Spring Practice. He spent the season as an undergraduate assistant coach.
As a sophomore in 2006, Cowan started the final eight games of the season, including a 13-9 victory over No. 2 USC in which he scored the only Bruin touchdown. On the year, he completed 145 of 276 passes for 1,782 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
In 2007, he appeared in just five games due to injury, starting them all. He completed 72 of 135 passes for 696 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Cowan ranks 12th on UCLA's career completion list. He finished with 217 completions on 411 attempts for 2,478 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
