Ravelojaona Takes Aim at Pac-10 Invitational Title

California women's tennis senior Marion Ravelojaona claimed her fifth consecutive singles victory today with a 6-4, 6-2 win over UCLA's Stephanie Wetmore in the singles semifinal of the 2009 Pac-10 Women's Tennis Invitational Tournament. She will face Carling Seguso of UCLA tomorrow (April 26) in an 8 a.m. final at the Libbey Park courts. Seguso defeated Aleksandra Malovic of Washington by a 6-2, 7-5 count to advance to tomorrow's final match.
Also in action as a part of the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Singles Championship, No. 28-ranked sophomore Marina Cossou fell in her semifinal to Natasha Marks of Arizona, 6-2, 7-5, to end her run this year.
Play concludes tomorrow (April 26) with final matches in both singles and doubles to determine individual conference champions. The No. 8-ranked Golden Bears (17-4, 7-1 Pac-10) completed the dual season on a six-match winning streak and await seeding into the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships.
