WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA senior infielder Cody Decker has been named the Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week and ARIZONA senior right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet has been named Pitcher of the Week for Apr. 20 - 26, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Decker helped lead UCLA to a series win over No. 17 Oregon State last weekend, going 7-for-15 (.467). The Santa Monica, Calif., native totaed three home runs, a double, five RBI and four runs scored in four games for the Bruins last week. In a loss at UC Riverside, Decker was 3-for-5 with one homer, two runs scored and two RBI. In UCLA’s series opener with the Beavers, the senior was 2-for-3 with another home run, a double and two RBI to lead the Bruins to a 7-5 victory. Despite falling to OSU on Saturday, Decker hit his team-leading 15h home run of the year. He currently leads UCLA with 37 RBI and a .667 slugging percentage. He has become the first Bruin to hit 15 home runs or more since the 2004 season, when Ryan McCarthy totaled 15 homers for the year.

This is the third-career weekly honor for Decker and the 50th all-time for UCLA.

Guilmet paced Arizona with a series-opening victory at Stanford on Apr. 24. The Citrus Heights, Calif., native pitched seven innings, allowing just five hits and walking one batter while striking out three to pick up his first win since Mar. 13. The one run and five hits allowed tied season lows. With the three strikeouts, Guilmet has moved into the fourth spot on the Pac-10’s all-time strikeouts list (385). Stanford was a combined 0-for-7 against the senior with runners on base. The Wildcats, who won their first Conference series of the year, have won the regular season series against the Cardinal for seven straight seasons.

This marks the sixth weekly pitching honor for Guilmet and the 42nd overall for Arizona.
