Perez & Krais To Compete At Pac-10 Multi-Event Championships; Others Head To Oxy
May 6, 2009
Two Bruins will head to Eugene, OR this Friday and Saturday to kickoff the post-season at the Pac-10 Multi-Event Championships, while a group of Bruins will head to the Oxy Invitational on Saturday. Trent Perez will represent the men's team in the decathlon, while Ryann Krais will compete for the Bruin women in the heptathlon.
Perez heads to Oregon with the seventh-best decathlon score in the conference, 6461 points, which he picked up at the RJ/JJK Invite back in April. Krais holds the fifth-best heptathlon score, 5220 points, which is also an NCAA provisional qualifier.
While the post-season begins this weekend for Perez and Krais, many Bruins will have one last competition to get ready for Pac-10s and beyond at the Occidental Invitational in Eagle Rock, CA.
All event groups will be represented on the women's side, while only the throws group will be off from competition on the men's side. Athletes competing at Occidental will be looking to improve on their marks heading into the conference meet or solidify a spot on the conference competition team.
