Press, O'Hara Compete With U.S. U-23 National Team In 1-1 Tie With Northern Ireland

STANFORD, Calif. - Rising senior Kelley O'Hara and junior Christen Press, two staples of the Stanford offense, are currently competing with the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team overseas in Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Press played the full-90 on May 16th in a nil-nil draw against the full Northern Ireland side in Belfast, while O'Hara tallied 58 minutes. The USA piled up a 15-3 shot advantage, but couldn't find a way past Northern Irish goalkeeper Tiarna McKenna.
The U.S. team was to play the full National Team of Ireland, but that match was cancelled and the U-23s will instead play an Irish women's select side in its second and final game of the tour.
The two Cardinal forwards will then return to The Farm this week in time to compete in Thursday night's spring contest against visiting Santa Clara at 7 p.m. in Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.
