Women of Troy Finish at Pac-10 Championships

No. 12 ranked USC performed at the Pac-10 Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma, Calif. on Sunday (May 17). Facing top talent, including No. 1 ranked Stanford in the mix, the Trojans had tough competition throughout the day.
Beginning the day, the Women of Troy finished second with a time of 7:30.7 in the varsity four qualifying heat, putting them in the grand final. The second varsity eight was up next, where they finished third in their qualifying heat with a time of 6:50.2. With a third place finish at 6:38.3, the varsity eight also qualified for the grand final. Rounding out the morning session, the novice eight also qualified for their grand final with a third place finish at 7:00.9.
The closest race of the day was the women's varsity eight race, in which USC finished just .2 behind victor Cal. Cal finished at 7:20.0 and USC came in right on their heels, 7:20.2.
In the second varsity eight grand final, the Women of Troy came in fourth, with a time of 6:46.4. Cal won that race with a time of 6:35.1.
The varsity eight grand final featured top-ranked Stanford and second-ranked Cal. USC came in with a time of 6:36.2, putting them in fifth place. Stanford won with at time of 6:18.6.
In the grand final the novice eight of USC finished with a time of 6:50.8.
