UA Set To Host Elite Throwers

While the majority of the UA track and field athletes will have the weekend of as they prepare for next weekends NCAA West Regional Championships in Eugene, the UA throwers will have one more last chance to tune up as they join some of the supreme throwers across the country in the annual Tucson Elite Throwers Classic at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
Olympians, national team members and some of the cream of the crop of graduated collegiate athletes will bein attendance at Saturday's meet and it goes without saying that Drachman Stadium will see some pretty impressive marks posted.
Last year, Nike's Dana Pounds set a facility record in the javelin throw and it would not be too surprising if some of the other stadium records were to fall Saturday will all the top-notch talent in the field.
Events will kick off at 4 p.m. and continue through the evening. UA athletes Tomaz Bogovic, Tyler Johnson, Taylor Freeman, Kelsey Jessup, Korion Morris, Megan Howard, Kendra Walworth, Taylor Bush, Zack and Nicole Lloyd will all take part in tonight's festivities.
