Six Trojans of the No. 16 Women's Crew Recognized by Pac-10 for Their Academic Efforts

Senior Robin Hextrum, senior Cassie Richardson, senior Julia McIllvaine, senior coxswain Lisa Sabalvaro, junior Carin Andersson and junior Alexandra Tapley from the No. 16-ranked USC Trojans were recognized by the Pac-10 for their academic efforts on Friday (May 29). To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or substitute of significant contribution.
Hextrum, Richardson and McIllvaine were named to the All-Academic first team. Hextrum has helped the team in the second varsity and varsity four boats and has a 3.8 GPA with a Fine Arts major. Richardson boats an impressive 3.0 GPA in Linguistics and Broadcast Journalism and has helped the Trojans in the varsity four and second varsity boat throughout the season. McIllvaine comes in with a 3.68 GPA in History and Theatre.
Sabalvaro is USC's lone representative on the All-Academic second team. Sabalvaro is the Trojan's number one coxswain and co-team captain and has a 3.34 GPA in Communication.
USC's other captain Andersson was given honorable mention, along with junior Tapley.
