Stanford Volleyball To Be Represented At Team-Up For Girls Day

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford volleyball will be represented at Team-Up for Girls Day at AT&T Park tomorrow, an event to honor Bay Area women athletes and encourage young girls to pursue their goals. Two-time All-American Alix Klineman and former Cardinal player Sara Dukes will be part of a pregame panel discussion. The event is sponsored by the San Francisco Giants, the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative (BAWSI) and Team-Up for Youth.
The pregame panel discussion begins at 4:00 p.m. in Scoreboard Plaza at AT&T Park and requires a special ticket (call 415-972-2298 or go to sfgiants.com/specialevents to purchase). Klineman, a two-time All-American outside hitter for the current team, and Dukes, a current AVP Pro Beach Tour player and 2004 Stanford graduate, will represent the Cardinal volleyball program.
Additionally, the panel will feature Juli Inkster, LPGA Hall of Famer, Peanut Louie-Harper, once ranked 19th in the world on the WTA Tour, Jocelyn Forest, national champion and MVP of the New England Riptide of National Pro Fastpitch, Kay Cockerill, the only woman golfer to be inducted into UCLA's Hall of Fame and current commentator for the Golf Channel, Cheri Blauwet, two-time winner of the Boston Marathon and gold medalist in the 800m at the Athens Paralympics, and Megan McCray, member of the FC Gold Pride, Bay Area women's pro soccer team. All of the women will also be honored on the field in a home plate ceremony that begins at 5:40 p.m.
