Four Named To Pac-10 All-Academic Team

STANFORD, Calif.- The Stanford women's tennis program was well-represented with four selections on the 2009 Pac-10 All-Academic team, as announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Senior Jessica Nguyen (3.36 - Economics) was named to the Second Team while sophomore Hilary Barte (3.42 - Undeclared), junior Lindsay Burdette (3.07 - American Studies) and sophomore Carolyn McVeigh (3.40 - Undeclared) were recognized as Honorable Mention.
Nguyen is a three-time recipient, earning honorable mention accolades in her first two seasons. Burdette is a two-time honorable mention recipient while Barte and McVeigh are first-time candidates.
Burdette is a three-time All-American, earning the distinction in doubles all three years. Barte has now received All-America recognition in both singles and doubles during her first two seasons. McVeigh finished with a 26-10 overall singles mark while Nguyen was 22-10 overall in singles. McVeigh and Nguyen qualified for a spot in this year's NCAA Doubles Championship.
