Kickoff for Reunion Homecoming Game Against Arizona State Set for 7:15 p.m.
June 2, 2009
STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's 2009 Reunion Homecoming Game against Arizona State on Oct. 25 will be nationally-televised by Fox Sports Net and will kickoff at 7:15 p.m. PT.
The game will be first of two of two national telecasts involving the Cardinal during the 2009 season. Stanford's game against Notre Dame on November 28 will be televised nationally on ABC with kickoff set for 5:00 p.m.
In addition, Stanford set game times for its home games against San Jose State (Sept. 19) and Washington (Sept. 26) at 6:00 p.m.
Other network assignments and kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
'The change in starting time creates some significant problems for groups on campus who are planning Reunion Homecoming activities,' said Stanford's Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby. 'Having fully acknowledged that, we also have a contractual obligation to work with our television partners through our contract with the Pac 10 conference. As Jim Harbaugh's football team continues to improve, we will certainly generate more interest in putting our games on television and sometimes those opportunities will require changes in kickoff times. We will certainly work hard to be good partners, both on and off campus.'
Stanford opens the 2009 season on September 5 at Washington State. The Cardinal will play the first of seven home games at Stanford Stadium on Sept. 19 against the San Jose State Spartans. Season tickets are currently on sale at the Stanford Athletic Ticket Office, on-line at GoStanford.com or by calling 1-800-Stanford. Individual game tickets will go on sale August 3.
