WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
Three Washington baseball players -- Jacob Clem, Kyle Conley and Brendan Gardner-Young -- received All-Pac-10 Academic honorable mention earlier this week when the conference office announced it's all-academic team for baseball.
Clem, a third-year sophomore from Burlington who served as a pitcher and first baseman/outfielder during the past season, is a business administration (finance) major with a 3.18 grade point average.
Conley, a fourth-year junior from Richland, was also named to the All-Pac-10 first team as a slugging outfielder. He led the UW with 19 homers and 55 runs batted in during the '09 season and boasts a 3.07 GPA in economics.
Gardner-Young, a sophomore outfielder from Normandy Park, was a regular starter in left and center field and was the UW's most oft-used leadoff hitter. He is an informatics major with a 3.19 grade point average.
