Walton Helps Lakers in Blowout

Chris Tomasson wrote the story about father-son NBA Championship possibilties for the paper and usatoday.com.  Walton's dad, former UCLA and NBA star Bill Walton, won championships with the Portland Trailblazers in 1977 and the Boston Celtics in 1986.

The younger Walton starred at Arizona from 2000 to 2003 and was part of the Cats' national runnerup squad at 2001's Final Four.

He was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2003 draft and has become a key role player for Phil Jackson's club. The Lakers defeated the Magic, 100-75, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night in Los Angeles. Walton had nine points and two rebounds in 24 minutes at Staples Center.
