Jason Kipnis selected in Second Round By Cleveland Indians

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State junior centerfielder Jason Kipnis was chosen by the Cleveland Indians in the second round of today's MLB Draft. Kipnis joins Mike Leake, who went #8 overall to the Cincinnati Reds, as Devils drafted so far in the 2009 Draft.

Kipnis was selected in last season's draft in the fourth round by the San Diego Padres as the 135th overall selection. He improved 72 slots by returning to Arizona State, going as the 63rd overall pick to the Indians.
