Maric Records Top Preliminary Mark At NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -

Riding his momentum from his regional championship, senior Martin Maric posted the top qualifying mark in the discus at the NCAA Championships on Thursday in Fayetteville, Ark.

Maric's mark of 201-10 (61.53m) was a collegiate best for him and ranks fifth all-time in school history. The final of the discus will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.

Sophomore Michael Coe was the other Golden Bear to advance to the final in his event. In the prelims of the 1500, he clocked a personal-best time of 3:41.60 to place fifth.

Junior Yosef Ghebray and sophomore Alison Greggor both competed in the 10,000, but neither were able to finish the race. Senior Jordan Paul ended his season with a time of 14.63 in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 25th in the prelims.

The NCAA Championships continue tomorrow.
