Summer Men's Golf Update: James Byrne Wins Tennant Cup In Record Fashion

Sun Devil James Byrne won the 72-hole Tennant Cup over the weekend by seven shots at Glasgow Golf Club's Killermont Course at Bearsden.
After Saturday's first two rounds at Glasgow Gailes, Byrne, fresh off a round of 16 finish at the British Amateur, led by one stroke at one-under-par 142 (73-68). But on Sunday he blew away the field by twice equalling the course record with two seven-under-par 63s. His 15-under-par 267 was matched the second-lowestin tournament history.

ASU had four players competing in the U.S. Open over the weekend in New York, as Phil Mickelson, Billy Mayfair, Matt Jones and Paul Casey all played. That matched the most by any school along with Florida, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech and Arizona.
