Anderson Advances at USA Track Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Jeshua Anderson advanced from the men's intermediate hurdles first round Friday evening during the second day of the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Anderson, a WSU junior in the fall, won his 400m hurdles heat and had the second-fastest time of the day at 50.22 seconds. Justin Gaymon, who just completed his eligibility at the University of Georgia, ran the top time of the first round of 49.86. Anderson is the two-time Pacific-10 and NCAA 400m hurdles champion and holds the WSU record time of 48.47. Gaymon finished third at the 2009 NCAA meet. The top three in each of the four heats and next four fastest runners advanced to the Saturday semifinals. WSU 2009 grad, Barry Leavitt, ran a time of 51.87 for 19th place.
