Lincecum Named to NL All-Star Team

NEW YORK -- Former Husky pitcher and current San Francisco Giants hurler Tim Lincecum was named to the 2009 National League All-Star team on Sunday.
Lincecum, the 2006 Golden Spikes award winner and 2008 NL Cy Young Award winner, earned his second-consecutive selection to the National League's pitching staff. He did not pitch in the 2008 game due to illness.
Lincecum sports a 9-2 record and 2.23 ERA for the Giants this season. He has pitched complete games in three of his last five starts and currently has a streak of 23 consecutive scoreless innings.
The Liberty High grad out of Renton, Wash., leads Major League Baseball with 141 strikeouts and his 2.23 ERA ranks third. His 121.0 innings pitch are tied for second most in all of baseball.
The Midsummer Classic will take place on July 14 in St. Louis.
