Breeden Finishes Third in Another Butterfly

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana-- Stanford's Elaine Breeden (Lexington, KY) finished third in her second butterfly event of the U.S. World Championship Trials, racing to a time of 2:07.40 on Friday. Breeden, who swam the fastest preliminary time, at 2:07.48 in the 200-meter race, was beat out by Kathleen Hersheys's time of 2:06.44.
In other action in Indianapolis, Angela Duckworth (8:48.54) and Whitney Spence (8:50.16) finished 17th and 19th overall in the 800-meter freestyle preliminaries and are both likely to swim in one of three Finals on Saturday on the meet's final day.
