Coming off an impressive 16-2 record at home, 22-11 overall, Cal's 2009-10 home schedule features 16 regular-season dates in Haas Pavilion. The Golden Bears start the season against Murray State and Detroit in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Nov. 9 and 11. Iowa State visits Berkeley Dec. 5 in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series, while the annual Golden Bear Classic runs from Dec. 28-29.
The Pac-10 slate opens with three home games starting with Stanford Jan. 2, while USC and UCLA come to town the following weekend.
Under the direction of head coach Mike Montgomery, the Bears are coming off a season in which they tied for third place in the Pac-10 and earned their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2006. Leading the way are first-team All-Pac-10 performers seniors Jerome Randle and Patrick Christopher, two of the four returning starters from last season. Cal has been mentioned in virtually every preseason Top 25 poll for the upcoming season and is listed as one of the favorites to win the Pac-10 title.
