Taylor's First Round Over, Second Round Delayed

July 24, 2009

OAKVILLE, Ontario - Washington's Nick Taylor played only four holes of golf today at the RBC Canadian Open, finishing up his first round while seeing his plans of beginning his second round pushed to Saturday morning due to rain.

Taylor finished the first round with a seven-over 79, meaning he'll have a lot of work to do to make the cut after the second round. His first round, which didn't begin until late Thursday afternoon due to rain, was finished up Friday morning with his last four holes.

After heading into the clubhouse at 3-over following his 14 holes Thursday, Taylor's finale to his opening round was marred by a 7 on the par-three seventh hole (he started the round on No. 10). A quartet of players posted nine-under 63s to share the lead after one round of play.

However, Taylor and a number of other golfers were unable to begin their second rounds Friday due to more rain. As of now, he's scheduled to tee off Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
