Volleyball Begins Fall Camp

Aug. 10, 2009

TUCSON - The Arizona volleyball team kicked off Fall camp today with two sessions of intense practice at the Richard Jefferson Gymnasium.

Over the next two weeks, the team will hold a morning session at 8:30 a.m., then break for lunch before starting back up again at 2:30 p.m.

'I thought it was a good first day today,' said head coach Dave Rubio. 'We were a little rusty, but that is somewhat to be expected early on.  I'm excited to get back at it again tomorrow.'

The team will hold its annual Red-Blue Scrimmage on Aug. 22 at McKale Center. The following weekend the team will travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the Louisville Tournament. Up first Arizona will meet the host Cardinals, then they will take on Belmont and Pittsburgh a day later.
