2009 TEAM PREVIEW
After having two-straight losing seasons, the Wildcats found themselves on the bubble for postseason play last season. This season, Arizona has a strong core of returning players: junior outside hitters Tiffany Owens, and Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection last year, and Whitney Dosty, and junior setter Paige Weber, along with senior middle blockers Stephanie Snow and Jacy Norton. Every statistical team leader from last year’s team is returning. With all this experience, the Wildcats will look to make the postseason for the first time since 2005.Owens was named Pac-10 Player of the Week and AVCA Division I National Player of the Week on Nov. 24, 2008, after leading Arizona to a sweep of the Oregon schools in late November.

KEY MATCHUPS
• Sept. 25 - USC at Arizona, 7:00 p.m. PT
Arizona opens Pac-10 play at home against USC. The Wildcats split the regular-season series with USC last season, winning 3-2 in Tucson. In order to make the postseason, the Wildcats need to get off to a strong start in Conference play. The last time Arizona won its Pac-10 opener was in 2005 against Washington State, the last year Arizona has appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
