DAY 10 - Canfield returns, feels good
Aug. 19, 2009
A day after taking the day off with a tired arm, senior quarterback Sean Canfield returned to practice this morning and even took snaps with the first and second teams during red zone drills.
Canfield looked sharp and according to head coach Mike Riley, felt good following the much-needed respite.
In other news, there was a glimmer of hope provided by Riley when he stated that junior wide receiver Darrell Catchings might not be out for the year afterall. Catchings was expected to undergo surgery on his upper hand today, but that has been postponed after further evaluation by the doctor. Instead he'll have another MRI performed this week.
'There is a chance he won't be lost for the year; I think that's great doctoring,' Riley said laughing. 'I don't want to be an alarmist either way, because he could very well still be out for the season, but there is some hope there.'
