Lang And McCabe Set To Compete For Canada In FISA Rowing World Championships

VICTORIA, B.C. - Husky rowers Max Lang and Conlin McCabe were both named to Canadian National Team boats that will race in the FISA Rowing World Championships in Poznan, Poland. The World Championships are slated for August 23-30.
Lang and McCabe were previously announced as 'traveling alternates' on the Canadian team, but both have now been selected to boats.
Lang will row in the men's pair and McCabe will compete in the men's coxed pair.
Lang was a member of the 2009 IRA national champion men's eight and spent the 2008 season training with the Canadian Olympic team. Most recently, he competed as a member of the 2009 U32 Canadian straight four, which finished fourth at the World Championships last month. Lang also won gold in the 2006 U23 World Rowing Championships and was given the Rowing Canada Aviron International Achievement Award that year for his achievements.
McCabe spent his freshman season in the 2009 undefeated Pac-10 champion and IRA national champion freshman eight. McCabe most recently raced as a member of the Canadian U23 straight four that finished fourth at the U23 World Championships last month. He was also a member of the Canadian eight that won silver at the 2008 U23 World Championships and which captured the Grand Challenge Cup at the 2008 Henley Royal Regatta.
