Pac-10 Announces Women's Basketball Television Schedule

STANFORD, Calif. - Pacific-10 Conference commissioner Larry Scott announced the television package for the 2009-10 women's basketball season, a package that includes 21 contests, including 15 regular-season conference matchups, to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net and locally on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. In the package, Stanford has been selected for five of the 21 contests, with the possibility for up to three more regular-season appearances.
The package also includes the semifinals and championship game of the Pac-10 Tournament on March 13 and 14.
Stanford's first television appearance as part of the package will be Dec. 19, 2009 as the Cardinal hosts the Tennessee Lady Volunteers for an 11:30 a.m. PT tip at Maples Pavilion. Two more Cardinal home dates will also be on televised. The contest at Maples Pavilion against Bay Area rival California, originally scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 3, will now take place at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday, Jan. 2, while the game against USC, originally set for Saturday, Feb. 6, will now take place Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. PT
Two road games will also be carried live, Jan. 23 at Oregon (11 a.m. PT) and Feb. 25 at Arizona State (6 p.m. PT).
Additionally, FSN has designated three dates, Feb. 20, Feb. 27 and March 6 as 'wildcard' slots, with the games to be televised on those dates to be announced in the weeks leading up to the contests.
Stanford, which is aiming to make a third consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four in 2009-10, will begin the campaign on the road Nov. 13 at Old Dominion. The Cardinal's regular-season home opener is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 19 against Pepperdine.
