Stanford Tennis Teams Earn Preseason National Rankings

STANFORD, Calif.- Both Stanford tennis programs are well-represented in the preseason edition of the ITA national rankings, highlighted by five men's players and four women's players ranked on the singles side.
Junior Alex Clayton and sophomore Bradley Klahn are both ranked in the top-15, with Clayton holding down the No. 7 spot and Klahn checking in at No. 15. Senior Richard Wire received a No. 76 ranking while junior Greg Hirshman (No. 91) and sophomore Ryan Thacher (No. 96) also appear in the top-100.
Two men's doubles teams are ranked, as Klahn and Thacher come in at No. 8 while the duo of Wire and freshman Matthew Kandath checks in at No. 31.
On the women's side, junior Hilary Barte has been a fixture among the top-10 throughout her career and has been tabbed No. 5 in the preseason. Senior Lindsay Burdette checks in at No. 63 while junior Carolyn McVeigh appears at No. 75.
Two doubles teams earned recognition, with Barte and Burdette ranked No. 3 while McVeigh and freshman Mallory Burdette are No. 49.
