Four Cats to Compete in First Tournament of the Year

Sept. 10, 2009

TUCSON-The Arizona men’s tennis team will send four players to the Aggie Fall Invitational this Friday, which will be the team’s first tournament of the year. Junior Geoff Embry, sophomore Jason Zafiros, and freshman Alex Johnson will head to Las Cruces, New Mexico, along with head coach Tad Berkowitz.

Arizona will be competing against New Mexico, New Mexico State, NAU, Texas Tech, and Abilene Christian. The tournament begins Friday Sept. 11th, at 9 a.m., and continues through Sunday.

“This is a great tournament to kick off the year,” said head coach Tad Berkowitz. “It’s a great opportunity for the guys to get a lot of matches in, especially Alex and Jeff, who will be competing for the Wildcats for the first time.”

All matches will be played at the New Mexico State Tennis Center.
