This season different members of the 2009 Cardinal Women's Volleyball team will send in their thoughts on the season and how the team is progressing. Check back soon for a new update!
Hey Stanford Family,
Another week has gone by and here are some more updates from our team. Last weekend we made the trip over to Stockton for the UOP Banker's Classic volleyball tournament hosted annually at University of Pacific. We started off the tourney ranked 11th overall, coming in to face the No. 5 Florida Gators. Before warmups even started, we all knew that it was going to be a competitive match after the playoff history between Stanford and Florida, including last year where the Gators' season was ended. Once the match got underway, no one was let down as the competition came down to a heated fifth set. Although we weren't able to pull out the victory this time, we definitely bounced back from the previous week and showed that Stanford is not to be discounted this season.
The next day we faced off against the San Jose State Spartans and came away from the match without dropping a set, improving our overall record to 3-2. As soon as that tournament finished, we all knew that we had just two solid days of work to put in before it was off to our next competition. Right now we are in Hawai'i participating in the Honolulu Advertiser Volleyball Challenge at the University of Hawai'i for our third tournament. We will challenge the Rainbow Wahine, Texas-San Antonio, and Weber State. Keep up with us on gametracker, our facebook fan page, and twitter and as always, Go Cardinal!
