Oregon Men, Washington Women top the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -
The defending men’s national champion OREGON Ducks and the defending women’s national champion WASHINGTON Huskies top the preseason poll of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Despite losing NCAA individual champion Galen Rupp to graduation, the Oregon men return seven All-Americans in their quest to win a third straight NCAA title. Other Pac-10 men’s teams ranked in the preseason poll include No. 3 STANFORD, No. 24 WASHINGTON, and No. 29 ARIZONA STATE.
On the women’s side, Washington was the unanimous preseason No. 1 as the Huskies return five of their top seven runners, including four All-Americans. Other Pac-10 women’s teams gracing the preseason poll include No. 2 Oregon, No. 6 Stanford, and No. 11 Arizona State.
The Oregon men and Washington women also will look to defend their titles at the Pac-10 Cross Country Championships, which will be held Friday, Oct. 30 at the Sky Links Golf Course in Long Beach, Calif.
