Michigan Day Two: The Big Match at Crisler

Sept. 19, 2009

Fifteen minutes until match time.

In hopes that fans will make their way over to Crisler Arena, today’s matchup with No. 6 Michigan was moved to Crisler Arena, right next to Michigan Stadium or “The Big House.”

The Oregon State volleyball team rebounded last evening against Marquette, sweeping the Golden Eagles. The Beavers prepare for their last non-conference match right now.

The Beavers watched the first set of last night’s match between the Wolverines and Dayton and were impressed with the fan turnout in Cliff Keen Arena. The players were commenting on the line of kids that came to cheer on the team at introductions and the older fans that were just as into the match as the players. It will be interesting to see if that still holds true today.

Freshman defensive specialist Dianni Freeman sat down to share her thoughts on the trip and the season.

This is now our third away trip in the preseason, and we couldn't be more excited for the relentless competition that lies ahead in this afternoon's match against Michigan. While this morning started off great with a tasty breakfast, it started off a little rocky for two of our team’s players when their alarm didn't seem to go off. Of course Coach Mark gave one of our freshmen a hard time when she walked in tired and a bit confused – we all couldn’t help but laugh. One thing I have come to learn about our team is we are feisty when it comes to food. When it’s time for a meal, we are all rushing to be first in line and get down to business. Although, when it comes time to get on the court, we couldn't be more the same. There is nothing more exciting and more intense than stepping on the court and getting ready to beat anyone in our path. I am looking forward to playing in front of a huge crowd, where I know we will do amazing things today. It’s going to be great! We just finished our pre-game meal, which is always entertaining with Lexie in the bunch, and we will soon leave to Michigan where we will get ready for our biggest match yet, watch out Oregon State is coming out!!
