Stanford Tied for Ninth at Illini Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The top-ranked Stanford men's golf team finds itself tied for ninth after one round of the Fighting Illini Invitational being held at the prestigious Olympia Fields Country Club outside of Chicago.

Stanford carded an opening round score of 295 (+15) on the par-70, 7205-yard course. Northwestern led the event after the first round with a team score of 286 followed by Florida State at 288.

Individually, sophomore David Chung was tied for 10th after an opening round 71 while junior Steve Ziegler was tied for 17th after a two-over 70. Junior Sihwan Kim was tied for 36th with an opening round 75 while Andrew Yun (77) and Graham Brockington (t-68) were tied for 54th and 68th, respectively.

The teams continue play at Olympia Fields on Saturday and Sunday.
