Oregon State's Rourke Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE senior outside hitter Rachel Rourke has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 15-21, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
A native of Queensland, Australia, Rourke was instrumental in Oregon State's 3-0 upset of No. 6 Michigan on Saturday, snapping the Wolverines' 52-match non-conference regular season winning streak. For her efforts she earned MVP honors at the ADIDAS Invitational.
For the weekend, Rourke averaged 5.18 kills, 1.64 digs and 0.55 blocks while hitting .290. In Friday's loss to Dayton, she posted 19 kills and six digs. Later on in the evening, the Beavers rebounded with a 3-0 victory over Marquette. Rourke posted 13 kills while hitting .345. In Sunday's upset over the Wolverines, she saved her best for last as she delivered 25 kills and five aces while hitting .420. With her solid performance on the weekend, she moved to second all-time on OSU's career kills list with 1,575.
This is the second-career weekly honor for Rourke, and Oregon State's 12th all-time Pac-10 Player of the Week.
