Sept. 25, 2009
Corvallis, Ore. -
Two of the best running backs in the Pac-10 Conference will take the field Saturday at Reser Stadium when the Arizona Wildcats visit the Beavers for the Pac-10 Conference opener at 4:30 p.m. Approximately 2,700 tickets remain and are available by calling 1-800-Go-Beavs or visiting the Gill Coliseum ticket office prior to 4:30 p.m. today or order online. Tickets will also be available on game-day beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Gate H – the south entrance to the stadium.
The Wildcats’ Nic Grigsby is the second-leading rusher in the league with a 133.3 yards per game average, followed by Jacquizz Rodgers’ 114 per outing.
Oregon State has won nine of its last 10 meetings against Arizona, and last year kicker Justin Kahut made the game-winning 24-yard field on the last play for the 19-17 victory. Kahut’s boot came after quarterback Sean Canfield threw a 47-yard strike to Sammie Stroughter to set up the winning kick.
Don’t forget tickets for the remaining home games are also available, including the Oct. 31 Homecoming contest vs. UCLA and the Nov. 14 Dad’s Weekend battle with Washington. The Beavers also host Stanford Oct. 10.
