Freshman Golfer Johnson Earns Amateur Exempt to Navistar Classic

Freshman Jennifer Johnson has received a sponsor exemption to compete in the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala. The tournament begins today and concludes on October 4th.

Johnson recently finished up a successful summer of golf, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the U.S. Women's Amateur. The La Quinta, Calif., native was also a quarterfinalist of the Girls Junior Championship and a member of the victorious U.S. Solheim team. In her Sun Devil debut, Johnson finished tied for seventh at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship.

Three former Sun Devils are also competing in the Navistar Classic. Two-time Pac-10 Champion Jimin Kang, 2005 NGCA Freshman of the Year Louise Stahle and Heather Bowie Young who was a member of two ASU NCAA Championship teams while at ASU.
