Wildcats wrap up SDSU Fall Classic

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA--The Arizona women's tennis squad finished off play at the San Diego State Fall Classic with only one singles win and one doubles win.

Starting off the day in doubles, sophomore Sarah Landsman and senior Ariane Masschelein defeated Cal State Northridge's Korab and Massi 8-3. Sophomore Debora Castany and senior Claire Rietsch lost to Cal State Northridge's Doane and Yang 8-1.

In singles play, Rietsch had the only win of the day, defeating San Diego's Laura Claus 3-6, 6-2, 10-8. Masschelein was defeated by SDSU's Sierra Ellison 6-3, 6-3, Castany lost to San Diego's Raygada 6-3, 6-2, and Landsman retired during the second set against San Diego's Julia Trunk.

Up next for the Wildcats, sophomore Natasha Marks will compete at the 2009 Riviera/ITA Women's All American Championships Qualifying Singles, starting Tueday, October 6.
