FR F Brittany Berger earned her first start and scored her first-collegiate goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to Loyola Marymount...RS JR MF Alex Davis assisted on Berger's goal, giving Davis her first assist on the year...With the squad's leading goal-scorer, SO F Renae Cuellar, and the team's starting goalkeeper, RS SR Devon Wharf out with injuries for the match, the Wildcats played the Lions close, out-shooting their opponent's 12-8...SO GK Ashley Jett earned her first start of the season, and made two saves.
ARIZONA STATE (7-1-2)
Arizona State was idle on the weekend, getting some time to prepare for Pac-10 play...The Sun Devils have been playing well as of late, going 5-0-2 in their last seven matches...The scoring wealth has been spread around, with 10 different players seeing the back of the net...The team is led by JR F Karin Volpe, who has netted four goals on the season...RS FR F Courtney Tinnin leads in the assists category with five.
The Bears dropped a rare home loss to Sacramento State on Friday, 1-0, but came back strong against then-No. 11 Santa Clara, playing them to a 1-1 draw in double overtime on the road...Cal struck first with JR F Alex Morgan netting the goal...FR F/MF Lauren Battung assisted on Morgan's goal marking the first assist of her collegiate career...Morgan is tied for 21st in the nation with an average of 0.81 goals per game.
The Ducks played a nail-biter on the road against Weber State, prevailing with a 1-0 win in double overtime thanks to a game-winning goal by JR MF Kirstie Kuhns...The goal was the first for Kuhns on the season and the fourth of her career...FR F Julie Armstrong ranks 13th in the country with 0.6
0 assists per game and has a total of six on the season...SO GK Cody Miles tallie

OREGON STATE (8-2-1)
With a tie and a win over the weekend, OSU stands at 8-2-1, the best non-conference record for the Beavers since 2001...In the 4-0 win over UNLV on Sunday, SR GK Ashley Wood made three saves and earned the Beavers their fourth shut out of the season...OSU's staunch defense has not allowed more than one goal in a game all season...Wood leads the team with a 0.50 goals against average.
The Cardinal are now consensus No. 1 after moving up to the first position in the NSCAA poll...At 11-0-0, Stanford has matched its' best-ever start...SR F Kelley O'Hara ranks second in the nation with 12 goals on the season...With two goals and an assist this weekend, O'Hara was named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week...She has also been named a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for her success on and off the field...O'Hara and SR F Christen Press are tied for second in the nation with 2.73 points per game...Press leads the nation with 0.91 assists per game.
UCLA earned its ninth win on the season with a 2-0 victory on the road against Pepperdine...SO F Sydney Leroux scored on a penalty kick in the seventh minute, bringing her team-leading total to 11 goals on the season...F MF Cheleasa Cline scored her first-collegiate goal to help the Bruins to a 2-0 win...UCLA's defense did not allow the Waves to take a shot in the first half, and only allowed six in the entire game...RS SO GK Chante' Sandiford is ranked seventh in the nation with 0.421 goals against average.
After starting the season 1-3, the Trojans have been on a tear, winning their last seven games...During the streak, their defense has held strong, only allowing three goals...USC finished its non-conference schedule strong on Friday with a 4-0 win over No. 25 San Diego...JR MF/F Alyssa Dávila, USC's leading goal scorer, brought her season total to five with a goal against the Torreros...Dávila also assisted on each of the other three goals, bringing her points total for the game to five.
The Huskies finished off non-conference play with wins over Gonzaga and Montana...JR MF/F McKenna Waitley had three goals on the weekend, including the game-winning goals in both victories...Waitley had the first two-goal game of her career against Gonzaga...Coming into the season, Waitley had only scored four goals in her career and nearly doubled that in this past weekend...The Huskies have put together a six-game unbeaten streak and have allowed just five goals during the stretch...SO GK Kari Davidson boasts a 0.83 goals per game and has made 31 saves to date.
WASHINGTON STATE (7-3-0)
The Cougars dropped a close 2-1 match to No. 3 Portland...SR F Kiersten Dallstream scored her 11th goal of the season...Dallstream is tied for second in the nation with 1.10 goal per game...She has scored in seven-straight games, the third longest streak in Cougar history...WSU has not been shut out at all this season, scoring at least one goal in each of their 10 games.AROUND THE LEAGUE
