Stanford Finishes Second at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

REDMOND, Wash. - The 24th-ranked Stanford women's golf team shot a final round 303 to finish alone in second at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational hosted by the University of Washington at Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Wash.
The Cardinal's final 54-hole team score of 912 (308-301-303) was 15 strokes behind first place California, which finished with an 897 after rounds of 296, 303 and 298. Stanford outdistanced 13th-ranked Pepperdine by five shots.
Freshman Sally Watson shot a final round 74 today on the 6,136 yard Sahalee layout and finished tied for fifth in her second-ever collegiate event with a 54-hole total of 223. The native of Earlsferry, Scotland was making a serious run for the individual title, but a triple bogey on the par-3 17th hole left her four strokes behind medalist Katrina Delen Briones of San Jose State (219; 73-75-71).
Kristina Wong closed with a 77 today to finish tied for 10th place with a final 54-hole total of 228.
Sophomore Sydney Burlison carded her best round of the tournament today, closing with a 74 to finish tied for 14th.
Lila Barton, playing as an individual, finished with a 74 today after rounds of 79 and 77 to move up the leader board. The sophomore was one-under on the back nine and finished in 16th place.
Senior Angela King closed with a 78 for a final score of 232, good for 19th place.
Junior Rebecca Durham shot an 82 today and finished tied for 33rd with a score of 238 (78-78-82).
The Cardinal will host the Stanford Intercollegiate Invitational, Oct. 16-18 at Stanford Golf Course.
