Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

SAMMAMISH, Wash. The WSU women's golf team finished the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in 10th place in the final round at the par-72, 6,136 yard Sahalee Country Club. Posting a team total of 318 the Cougars maintained their position in the tournament.

Freshman Ali Thompson once again led the Cougars in her third consecutive collegiate event, posting a 75 (+3) on day three for a tournament total of 237 (+21). Thompson has been the outright leader of the team on the course having the low score in every tournament this season, finishing in 31st this week.

Sophomore Kristen Allard also had a successful day three with a 76 (+4), giving her a tournament total of 237 (+21) in a tie with teammate Thompson for 31st. Freshman Emma Betland had a consistent tournament, shooting an 81 (+9) on the last day for a three-round total of 241 (+35).

Junior Allison Travis finished the tournament with an 86 (+14) for a three-round total of 251 (+35). Freshman Ellen Park posted a 91 (+19) in day three for a tournament total of 265 (+49).

The team finished the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational with a tournament total of 966 (+102) finishing in 10th place only one stroke back from rival Idaho. The women look to improve on their season next week at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City.
