Goldman advances to second round of ITA All-American Tourney

TULSA, Okla. - Jay Goldman started his first singles match of the D'Novo / ITA All-American tournament strong with a win today at the Michael Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
The No.36 ranked junior who received a bid into the singles' Main Draw beat Marquette's Dusan Medan in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
'I was proud of Jay's effort today,' said head coach Tad Berkowitz. 'His opponent picked up the level of the match in the second set, but Jay hung with him and won the big points when he needed to in the third.'
Goldman will face No. 9 Sanam Singh of Virginia in the second round of the Main Draw Championships tomorrow.
Singh won his match against Texas A&M's Austin Krajicek in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3).
