Cats Close Classic with a Pair of Wins

TUCSON -- Baillie Kirker and Lini Koria hit back-to-back home runs in the Arizona third as the Wildcats downed Pima, 6-0, on Sunday evening to close out the Arizona Fall Classic at Hillenbrand Stadium.

After the Cats had put one on the board in the first, Kirker and Koria spearheaded a three-run third for the Cats.

Kenzie Fowler pitched the complete game, allowing 2 hits while striking out 10.

UA added two more in the fifth inning to cap the scoring.

Arizona 4, Cypress 1

TUCSON -- Lini Koria and Kristen Arriola homered to account for half of Arizona's scoring in a 4-1 win over Cypress on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.

The Cats scattered nine hits off Cypress pitching, with Lauren Schutzler and Karissa Buchanan leading the way with two apiece.

Arizona scored two runs in the third after falling behind by one in the top of the frame, then tacked one on in the fourth and sixth.

Ashley Ralston-Alvarez picked up the win after tossing four innings of two-hit ball and allowing an earned run. Sarah Akamine allowed a hit in two innings, and Kenzie Fowler retired the side in her inning of work.

Up Next: Arizona will play Pima on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. to close their Fall Ball schedule.
